Do I need a referral from a doctor to make a Physiotherapy appointment?
No, you don’t need a referral from a doctor. You can see a Physiotherapy directly to assess and treat your injury.
Can I get ACC on physiotherapy appointments?
Yes, if you have suffered an injury from an accident within certain timeframes.
How much will it cost me?
Our fees vary depending on whether it’s an ACC claim or private consultation. Just give us a call and we can discuss our different charges.
What payment methods can I use?
Payment by EFTPOS debit or credit card (payWave available) or cash is required at the time of consultation.
How long are the physiotherapy appointments?
Our treatment time frames vary depending on the nature and complexity of your injury. In general, appointments are 45 minutes. You also need to allow an extra 10 minutes to complete some paperwork if it is your first visit.
What happens at a physio appointment?
The physiotherapist will take a thorough history of your complaint and complete a physical examination of your injury. They can then discuss a plan of treatment in consultation with yourself. At all times your privacy will be respected, including full confidentiality of any information you provide to us.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Just wear your normal clothing but bring with you some lighter clothing such as shorts and a t-shirt.
Do I have to book in advance?
Just give Sportsmed Mosgiel Physiotherapy a call and usually, we should be able to offer you an appointment on the day.
I’m not a sports person – can I be treated at Sportsmed Mosgiel Physiotherapy?
Yes, we see all people needing help with an injury, including children.
